The Art of an Elevated Envelope

I've looked this beautiful only one other time! Isn't this one of the most beautiful envelopes ever? The ink is one the best blues ever, and I do like blue ink. It reminds me of the blue Schaffer my mother used. It's the blue of the ink I drank because it was so pretty. I was just a little thing but still recall the taste.

The liner is so pretty! It's like a beautiful petticoat--too pretty to be hidden! I couldn't
bring myself to take apart the envelope, so I simply folded back a part of the flap and scanned it. The detail, the detail, the detail! The colors match the front. And . . . goodness, Lindsey included some of her "Do Not Bend" stickers! I had to order some just to share. Want some too? You can get them at The Postman's Knock.

The art is in the details. Lindsey elevates correspondence to another level. Inside-out! So, who are the people in our neighborhood? In our neighborhood? They're the people that we meet when we're write. So write on!

  3. Wow! That blue is amazing indeed...indigo all over that one. Did you really drink blue ink as a child? I drank Drano once and had to be rushed to the hospital to have my stomach pumped...it must have been the pretty BLUE crystals! I think I helped to contribute to the invention of Mr Yuck labels on poison products. (ps received all of your lovely letters and will write as soon as I get a breather...)

    1. I wish you could see the colors for real. Yes, I had a great big drink from my mother's bottle of ink. It took a lot of swishing and spitting to recover. I swallowed tiny pretty pebbles because I thought I could keep them that way. My mother emptied my pockets at nap time and after my bath, so what was a girl to do? You'd like my current collections. Maybe I should be Magpie instead of Limner! Not because I'm good at idle chatter either. :D I hide my bird skeletons and skulls for obvious reasons. My most special keepsake is a bird's wing. It's intact so I get to fan it when I need to remind myself of the anatomy for a drawing. I'm willing to bet you have great collections too.

I'm awfully glad you survived the Drano! Didn't it hurt??? I'm grateful to you for your contribution to child safety. :)

I ate Epsom salts once. It was the pretty yellow color and my sister's fault! We didn't even get a spanking. Mama said we'd be punished enough before the day was over.

Letters sent are like investments for shareholders. You never know when you'll be surprised with a lovely dividend. :) I recently heard from someone I never expected to hear from again. It's nice knowing someone somewhere is thinking of you. My little red hen keeps me company. :)

    1. I recognize her style too! :) Her art is showing up a lot lately.

I'm an admirer also so I've bought several style packets and some of her stickers. Lindsey is one of the most generous artists around.

No, no, no! Why jealous? No jealousy necessary. :) Honest.
