Happy Springtime!

I haven't used my markers since the New Year's Eve. I haven't done much drawing either. Can't you tell? I'm about as rusty as an old fence post nail. Yet, Hard Boiled, Chester, and Lester would not be silenced. So I found a pencil, thumbed through old drawings until I came to the first clean sheet in my little pad, and here they are. The Fat Chick is sulking because I didn't finish her Easter bonnet. She didn't want to understand that I couldn't because my favorite markers are dry. You'd think she'd offer to sell a few dozen eggs to help a sister out, but no-o-o. She'd rather withhold permission to show her plain hat and pale person instead. She'd be mortified if I used the markers that have color. No matter. Here's wishing you a marvelous Spring, a Happy Passover and an eggy Easter! Chocolate or hard boiled?

    1. Aww, thanks, Elle. You're sweet. Hope you're in ship shape again, ready to sail through spring.

My day was unremarkable. That in itself was wonderful. Hope yours was all you needed it to be.

      Be well.

    1. Susan, I'd hug you if I could. I had fun making that card and then my scanner conked out on me. The colors are muted but the original is delightfully rich. I can't draw or cook or even plant flowers that will live if my spirit's not in it. If I paint the colors turn to mud. I've ditched dinners that had no heart, including cornbread, something I can bake in my sleep. Then come the good days when my little friends leap from the tip of my pencil and dance across the page. I do try though. :)

I try to love my new camera as much as I did my Olympus too, but I think it senses my reticence. I think it feels like an unloved stepchild. You inspire me to use my Canon more. Thank you. I subscribe to your posts the A-Z challenge seems right up your alley. Great job!

    2. I sure get it. I have had so many slumps. The thing with us creative-types, we have to be in the mood! Just want you to know I feel so excited when I see a post from you, no matter how long in between posts.

    3. Bless your heart! Your comment is so timely. Your words are the rope that yanked me out of a well I fell into today. I just made a mess of dinner. :( I feel "cooked out" and I enjoy cooking. I'm tired of eating out too. Spring makes me crave fresh green colorful foods but they aren't ready yet.

Thanks for saying something so kind. I'm not a typical blogger, am often slightly off topic, and do not write half as well as you, but writing is often good for what ails me. I get to be a little bit of an extrovert, for better or worse. :)

  3. 2 fried eggs on top of sweet potato fries. Can't get better than that.

    1. Time for dinner! I've never had sweet potato fries but you made me hungry. I prefer mine baked, with a pat of butter and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Yum! We should do a letter-writers' cookbook. Send all the recipes via letter!
