Happy Independence Day!


It isn't perfect but I had a blast drawing and coloring it. It was a rough draft that took on a life of its own while I talked to my cousin and drew at the same time. Earbuds give me the gift of freedom of speech. I can walk and talk at the same time. Or I can talk and doodle. These particular results are okay as is. Sure the flag doesn't look much like the real deal, the Berd is definitely feminine though; my little brush-cleaning marks are visible, and I lost my way with the fireworks, but it was fun. It tells a lot of stories. The story I see speaks to the freedoms we profess belong to everyone. Independence: noun - the fact or state of being independent. • capable of thinking or acting for oneself: advice for independent travelers.

Wait. Independence's dress should be tattered, and bloody and torn . . . well-worn and unadorned--just as it is.

    1. Jackie, it's raining! It's straight up and down rain! As in, straight from the sky up above, and down on us.

      Well, dang. It stopped. I think the rain cloud stalled above our house because there's sunshine to the left . . . Okay. It's coming down again. :D Hope your 4th is as cool as ours.

    1. But why??? Some people are praying for rain. I love rain. LOL. What is it about rain that makes you crazy? It's Mom Nature watering her great big garden and concrete/asphalt jungles. :) Imagine the flowers that will bloom. Think of the fishes in the seas and lakes. Conjure up a picture of a deer drinking from a pool made fuller by rain.

      Catch some rain water and give it to your plants. I'd give a lot to have a rain barrel. :) Cheer up! Put on a rainy day smile!

      LOL. I often think my take on the world offends and alienates, but I can't help it, and probably wouldn't if I could. I appreciate your comments.
