I am taking a vacation.

A real V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N! In the summer sun!
I've put away the stationery, I’m not in school!
The weather's warm, but I’ll play it cool!
I’ll be on vacation, gonna have lots of fun!
V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N! In the summer sun!
I’m gonna grab a bite at the pizza stand
Write love letters in the sand
I’ll be on vacation, and the world will be mine!
V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N! Under summer stars!
Yeah, I'll hop in my Honda to a drive-in Freddy's,
And eat by veggie burger real slow
I’m gonna hug and kiss myself, with joy and bliss
Oh, I can't wait to go-oo-oo
I’m gonna line dance to an iTune tune
Park my car 'neath an August moon
I’m on vacation, till the start of the Fall!
We're gonna have a ball! Goooooo!
Gonna have a ball!
Oh-ho, V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N!

But we'll be back!

And, when we are,
I'll hang this sign
I'll holler real loud,
"Come on in!
The V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N
 was fine!"
Then, if you look at dear old me
You won't find any frown lines!
'Cause we'll have been on V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N
In the summer time!

Y'all come back now. You hear?

    1. Thank you, I have. I am. I will. :) How's your summer so far?

  2. Enjoy yourself! I just heard that song on the radio last night. It actually feels like we may get summer here. The sun is shining and the sky is blue. What a welcome sight.

    1. Thank you. The song reminds me of our family road trips/vacations we took when I was growing up. The radio was better than any backseat game, until the signal was lost and all that static taunted us. After the music disappeared, Betty slept while I counted cars, then cows, occasional horses, fewer houses, and long stretches of highway. Wow. You took me way back when. :)

We might complain about the sun but we love it more than we say. Lately I've been giving thanks for its warmth on the hottest days. It makes a difference when the temps are in triple digits. I'm just in from amending the soil for the new raised bed. I shed several pounds of fluids in less than thirty minutes. I will plant peas and oats or buckwheat when the temperature is right.

I plan to write the pain from my muscles when I sit down to answer letters tonight. :)

I am grinning for your great weather. :D Enjoy to the max.

  3. Cheer up, you're on vacation! Haha!!!

    1. Cheer up? For real I am. I was. Hope your summer is off to a great start, has an amazing middle and finishes with ____________. (Fill in the blank. :) I still think of Pete. May all his summers be wonderful.

  4. Have loads of fun and if you are going someplace sandy... I would sure be happy if you collected me a few tablespoons of sand from where ever you are.I collect sand and would be glad to trade you for some from my collection :)Enjoy! Enjoy! I am so happy for you!

    1. Hey you, Elle! We hit the beach in August but haven't the last two years, although Galveston is just a long holler away. The last storm, the red tide, and too many people have changed the experience but there's talk of renting a beach house if Erin can come home. :)

  5. have fun dear glad to see you blogging again .

    1. You are truly kind. Thanks. I need to live a little if I want to share a little, and oh, do I have a good post for this Saturday. :)

Am working on getting my studio in working order again 'cause big things are coming and I need more space. Life is good!

      Be well.

  6. VACATION -- what a wonderful word! You have a real good one and come back refreshed and relaxed! We miss you but everyone needs a getaway sometimes...

    1. {{{Pamela}}} Thank you. Little vacations, spaced as needed, are like small meals throughout the day for a diabetic. I'm planning a big one for . . . I'll tell you when. :)

      Hope your summer is cool.

  8. Have a great summer dear friend. You deserve a happy one. :)

    1. {{{Misty}}} Hey, girl! Thank you. I'm working on it. :) I'm doing things I want to do. There's an Egyptian exhibit at the HMNS! You know I want to see it, but I flew the last time we visited. LOL. Perhaps I should go ghost hunting at the governor's mansion in Galveston? LOL.

      How are you?
