New Ammo in Limner Mail Arsenal

I'm not much of a shopper. I know what I want. I go. I seek. I find. I buy. I leave happy. When I shop the Paper Trail I hit so many stores that I forget where I found some of the ammo in my mail arsenal. Could it be a form of denial? Once I've returned to the safety of my room I quickly remove my finds from their bags; I dislike plastic bags, so I often take a book bag with me to avoid bringing more cheap landfill. Or I put my purchases into my ladybag. I am such a bag lady.

At the dentist's office the tech lifted my bag from the hook after they'd had their way with me today. She handed it off to the good doctor, who told me a chiropractor would be all over me because of the weight. She did curls with my bag. This was after I took the iPad out. In my defense, I had a book in my bag. A paperback. *sigh* I heard what she said though. Then the nice lady who fitted my mouth guard had to get in on the fun. It played out again for the receptionist. I didn't show them all the mail stashed inside. It included a package, albeit a light one. Oh. This was meant to be a simple show and tell, so moving on . . . These notecards are like an ode to spring. Lovely, aren't they?

As a graphic designer, I am fond of packaging designs. This  deserves a nod. Have a product look-see here:

So much mail went out today that it took a rubber band to hold it together. Okay, it was a lot.

I found a pen with white ink that flows. Yea! Hooray! A lot of mail really did go out. Expect more this week. The next two days will be devoted to recovering from another dental workout. I look like I've had botox injections after a match with the current welterweight champ. My reflection makes me smile like Two Faced. LOL. I look so bad I could go bear hunting with a switch. Okay, it's the anesthesia that makes me funny. LOL. Goodnight.

Write on.

  1. You are too funny. And I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who gets teased about carrying a heavy book bag/purse. As the saying goes, I take everything but the kitchen sink. =D

    1. I'm in good company then. :) JC is mortified if I ask him to hold my bag in public but guess who stashes some of his stuff inside. Guess so carries the handiwork sanitizers, snacks for his low blood sugar episodes, meds, a big camera, an iPad, at least one book for waiting rooms . . . I might as well have a diaper bag. :)

Girl, I have to laugh, or cry myself a river. Tear ducts wear out but laughing at myself is good for what ails me. ;)

  2. You are funny. I love your sense of humor. By the way, I received the glass straw on Saturday. Thank you very much. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with it though. It seems too fragile to use as a drinking straw and my imagination is clueless regarding this straw. I do appreciate it though and it was so nice to receive a tube in my mailbox. :)

  3. I don't try to be funny. LOL. My life is equal parts Greek tragedy, comedy or an interlude. Glad the straw made it safely. Seriously? You don't know what to do with it? :( have you ever worked in a restaurant? :) here I go again, sounding like HowRd Hughes and I are part of the same support group. Glass straws are better than plastic. Mine came with a little brush. I like iced teas in cans. Have you ever wiped the top of a can? Imagine what sets/sits on top of a case of beverages. :) bars are notorious for not washing glasses well. Okay.

The straw has a lifetime warranty. Pease use it. But wash it first. Help save the world from plastic. :) Enjoy.

    1. I smile reading how you smile. :) Smiling even wider knowing you think I write good.

I used to do Post Crossing. I had to choose between letters and and PC, so I chose letters although I like postcards. I get more bang for my money with letters. I hope your mailbox overflows with lovely postcards, Aritha. I like your name and your open face. You look like someone I'd be friends with if you lived in my neighborhood. :)

I need all the courage available when it comes to dentists. I have one of the best. I forgot to sleep with my mouth guard last night. LOL. At least it didn't bite be while I slept. :D

      Have a good evening.

  5. I have downsized my purse because I have found if I carry a larger one, I will fill it up with stuff I rarely need, and curse a lot at the grocery store when I have to lug it around. Those notecards are beautiful. I hardly ever have any luck finding pretty things around here.

    1. Jackie I downsized too, then I needed an extra bag for my camera, a book bag for my book and snack. Going to the park meant another bag for lunch. LOL. When we go out JC asks that I take a bag that matches his pants. Why do men act like they don't need bags too? I carry stuff for JC too, so he shouldn't mind holding it when it gets to be too heavy for me. ;)

I know what you mean. I used to order stationery because the pickings in the Katy/Houston area were slim to none. Things are picking up the last several months. When I shop for paper goods I call it traveling the paper trail, since I have to visit four or five stores to find one good box. Barnes & Noble has been a major disappointment, right along with Hallmark. Hope you get lucky.

  6. My sister always carries a Yo-Yo in her bag, along with her pocketknife, a leather journal, and a book or two.

    1. LOL! I think I like your sister. She must be good with a yo-yo. It can serve as a weapon as well. Like a bolo. :) My pocket knife is a little rusty. I used it the last time we went to the beach and forgot to clean it. Ditto on the journal. I take a small one. And always a book or magazine for waiting. JC says that's why my shoulder gets upset with me. Hmm.

  7. I SO need to order one of those straws. I remember seeing them sometime last year. Where did you find the white pen.. WHERE??

Think I might have to go with a dip pen and then it will be fine.

    1. DD, remember when Glass Dharma had the giveaway? 1000 straws free? I keep at least one in my Klean Kanteen for water. I don't spill when driving or when am a passenger. :) I can drink while I read without having to miss a word. LOL. I sound lazy but they're good for the planet. Kaylee might like the ones for children. The ones for smoothies are nice. I was grateful for them when I began having problems from grinding my teeth, and they became a habit.

I bought the white pen from Hobby Lobby or Archiver's. I have two but forget where the one that actually works came from. Uni-ball Signo never made a mark. :( Y&C Gel-Xtreme 0.7 won the contest!

I'll take a pic of the white ink I got. Haven't opened it yet. Stay tuned.

  8. I have seen these cards on Amazon.com and have been tempted to purchase them many times. Do you like the cards?

    1. Hey Randi. :) I came across a journal night before last and your name came up. I wrote about you. :D Deja vu anyone?

I like the cards enough to forgive the graphics in one. they're unique, the card stock is very good and takes ink well. The envelopes are simply lovely and the white ink did not lose its way on the colors. I paid full price but they are worth it.

Lovely stationery inspires, don't you think? I give these two pens up. :)

  9. Well you'd fit right in here in San Francisco -- no more bags are allowed to be given out in shops. You better bring your own or you have to pay for one and be politically incorrect! Love the cards -- and thanks for your mail.

  10. Pamela, I turn do bags so often some of the sales staff remember and even ask people who come after me in line if they want bags. Whole Foods give a nickel if you reuse one of the bags. I have a pantry that's close to overflowing the bag area. I save nice paper bags. I like cloth shopping bags too.

The cards really are nice and the package is just waiting to be reused as an envelope. :)

You are welcome. It's totally my pleasure.
