A Balancing Act

I've been working on balance in my day-to-day living. It gets easier with practice. A good trick is remember not to let your guard down. I hope you find balance. A good balance.

Part of my balancing act is having more than one creative outlet. Mail art is good for limners, journal keepers,  and letter writers, and everybody. I hope you have balance.

Write on.

Sincerely sincere,

Limner

P.S. I found the notecards this afternoon. The "Give the gift of" is from Houstonia Magazine. Patty taught me how to repurpose the pesky subscription cards. I say, right on. Then I write on them. The embellishments are from Archiver's.  "Give the gift of mail art" is more to my liking. I was so happy as I worked. I couldn't stop smiling. Oh, joy!

    1. Oh, but I did, dear Elle! Two days in a row. I couldn't have printed these cards myself for what they cost me. And I smiled so long my front teeth dried out. :D

Eleven pieces of mail went out and I left four on the scanner. One piece of mail greeted me in my post office box, but oh, it rained mail at home. :) The rest is for a future post. LOL. Expect a paper floodlet this week. ;)

Lovely stationery makes for lovelier mail. Pain management is (to quote MS) a good thing. :)

    1. Jan, Thank you. :) Archiver's has the best embellishments. They bought more mail ephemera after I asked kindly, and it sells. I bought the last box of those cards. I think they are seconds, but they're top notch to me. The quality is super.

  3. Lovely card. I had a bike like that, but I very foolishly left it behind when I moved here...sigh.

    1. Thank you, dear Anna. I want a bike like that one. I don't care if it takes me until I'm 89, I want that bike. I will have a basket on the handle bars, a basket on the back, a horn, and it will be red. Lipstick red. :) And wide tires! LOL. A custom seat and my address on the handle bars in case I get lost.

      Mail headed your way.

  4. Jan, I cannot leave a comment on your blog. I have the same problem with Mrs. Duffy's blog. I can't reply to you here either. No idea why but wish I could because I like the bunny. What's his name?

I looked for your address to send you a card but it's not posted.

    1. Hmmm, that's a mystery, especially since I'm sure I have mine set to accept comments without my having to approve them. Must be a Weebly thing (I'm pretty sure Mrs. D also uses Weebly) but I don't know why it's blocking some users or how to fix it.

That bunny is named Pip and she's one of the best bunnies we've ever had. She even comes when called (about 85-90% of the time that is =D) and was more than happy to pose for her picture. My Holland Lop, who thinks her middle name is Houdini, refused to stand by my mail kit and took off running.

    2. I took a screen shot in case someone could tell me what's wrong. I don't get it. Maybe I'm blocked because I use salty language? ;) LOL. I've written to Mrs. D about the problems but she doesn't have a clue either.

Pip is a lovely name. And Houdini is also. Do they chew on furniture? Are they potty trained? Am reading a book that talks about pet rabbits let loose and how they fruitfully they procreate, and it made me wonder if they are spayed and neutered like other pets. Do they live very long? Sounds like I want a rabbit for a pet doesn't it? LOL.

    1. Hey Ria. I have mail for you too. Thanks for your postcard. Thanks for the lovely comment. New materials are good inspiration. A lot of mail went out on Saturday, Monday and today. I am on a roll. :)

  6. I received your letter full of decorative goodie today...Thank you so much! There are some truly delectable thing in there! One question though... did you write a letter or just send goodies? The reason I ask is because the whole bottom was torn out of the envelope, I am just hoping nothing fell out. Hope you are having a great day! Thanks again! Oh, BTW, the Limner artistamp looked really good with the seed packet stamps :)

    1. Oh, Elle! I always include a note or letter. I write too many letters to scan them, my camera is dying, so I . . . I will check. I can see if I took a picture with my iPad in a minute. I get mail like that too. There are slits in some of my mail too. The ones that bear the stamp Royal Mail are "opened" most often.

Your creative work is admired by the post employees who get to see what I'm mailing lately. It's a shame they don't know their product; yesterday the clerk counted my lovely artistamp as postage! :) You're just that good.

I had a dental appointment today, but it was a great day just the same. :) Thank you. I hope the same for you. You and Pamela are among the hardest working women I know, and you still have time to post. Know that you are appreciated. More mail headed your way. :)

Letter writers and mail artists keep the mail going! I hope more people will give the gift of mail and mail art.

My other gift is still waiting for its debut. ;) Thank you from the center of my heart.

  7. Aw-w-w... there was no letter. I guess it fell out. It is a miracle all my goodies didn't fall out too! The whole bottom was torn out of it. Well, it was a nice gift and a sweet surprise, so thank you for all you do!
Oh dear, I hope the postal police won't come and arrest me That has happened to me before. I sometimes put my artistamp next to the real postage(always including the proper real postage of course), so it will be cancelled with the rest. I had a postal worker tell me that I had used way too much postage. I enjoyed the look on her face when I pointed out to her that one of the stamps was of my own making and not official postage. She said "Ya could have fooled me!" I would think as much postage as they see come through their hands they would know what official stamps are out there. Who knows maybe they aren't as fascinated by stamps as I am.
I hope you are feeling alright after your trip to the dentist... I would say I would rather have a tooth pulled than go to the dentist, but thats just silly :) Hugs!

    1. Elle, I'm sorry. I even checked my mail kit to see if I forgot to include the note. I am often forgetful and have left letters on the tablet. :( You are quite welcome. Your life is so full, I appreciate you being able to find time to do fun mail and stamps.

The postal clerks get a kick out of mail. I doubt they double check and I know for a fact they keep the postal police in check except during an election year. ;) Besides, you really are that good. Several admit they don't write a lot of letters; they mainly pay their bills via mail. :) Go figure.

LOL. I would rather have a tooth pulled than get one filled. They never manage to deaden me well enough. :( Is why I take good care of my teeth. No cavities in over twenty-five years. :D

Enjoy the rest of your day. Keep an eye on your mail box towards the end of the week, or maybe the weekend.

    2. I got a box of postal goodness today, my friend! Thanks so much for the giftie!! I was just telling Da last night that I wanted one of those for drinking my veggie juice, I get an orange mustache when I drink it and it is hard to get off my upper lip :) This is just the thing, and I have a little brush that will just fit for scrubbing it between uses! Thanks so much, you and I must be on the same wave link ;)

    3. Oh, good! Can't you tell that I made the box myself? LOL. Glad you have a need for one. Your smoothie recipe sounds delicious.

Great minds think aline. LOL. Thanks for letting me know it made it home safely. I order four straws, keep three for us, and give the fourth away. It has a lifetime guarantee. :)
