Linc'd In

"Linc'd In"
note card

Happy President's Day

With no available image of Washington, I opted out of posting
"Washed Out." No matter. Popular historian opinion ranks Lincoln as the greatest president.

I quote: "While 'President's Day,' which was enshrined as a Monday holiday with the 'Uniform Holiday Bill" signed into law by Lyndon Johnson in 1968, is more closely pegged to Washington's Birthday, Richard Nixon appears to have started the tradition of referring to it as Presidents Day and honoring all the presidents, even though some surely deserve less commemoration than others. Good thing for him, too, because he's the only president to resign in the face of impeachment."

Here I quote again: " . . . Washington helped create the country and Lincoln helped keep it intact and end the stain of slavery."

No matter. If we disagree we can pick our own personal favorite; after all, we have 45 from which we can choose. Here I disagree: The "stain of slavery" can never be cleansed or end.

  1. Happy presidents day to you too . Letter is going out to you tommorow . I have a few letters to go out . take care .

    1. Thank you. :) I, too, have letters and at least one package, that will go out tomorrow. I suppose it can wait until the day after, when I head into Houston proper. I haven't forgotten that I owe you one. It's never too late, 'cause mail is great!

      I will. You too, okay?

Am off to create one or two more pieces of mail art. I have great things to scan for special upcoming posts.

      Write on.

    2. Just received comments from you dated Feb. 18. I couldn't post it because it disappeared. No idea what's going on. Sorry.
