see you next time, phoebe, girl

Phoebe Snow has passed on. I missed her long before she exited this lifetime. I never could understand why she stopped singing. Then I read the story about her daughter. The photos are vague, but Phoebe’s daughter looked a lot like her.
I didn’t know that Valerie Rose had passed on, until now, after reading about it. Didn’t even know Phoebe was battling illnesses. Had I known, I’d have written to her. I’d have at least sent her a get-well card. It was the least I could have done for the woman/artist who gave the world “Poetry Man.”
May we meet in passing, on the other side. Just to say “Hey, good to see you, girl! I'ma buy 'Poetry Man' again, as soon as I finish my little tribute here. ‘Cause I don’t want to have to come back, and do it all again."
Sing on, Phoebe! Sing on. "Talk to me some more. . ."

  1. She is singing in God choir now and yes she was a truly beautiful person from what I read and I often think of Minnie Riperton as well as Phobe Snow . Sad to think that we have lost so many artist way too soon . Guess God needed them more than we did .
