I'm sorry for not announcing the winners of the Name the Kiwi Contest as planned on March 15. Recovery from surgery hasn't been a walk in the park after all. Yesterday I learned it can usually take up to six weeks before I'll be singing like a mockingbird--not that I could sing like one before surgery, but still . . . For now I'd settle for normal breathing and half the energy I had pre-op. I'd love lungs full of the cool sweet breezes we've been blessed with lately, and I want my voice back. Sounding like Froggy from The Little Rascals, HAL from The Space Odyssey in need of a tune up, or even Louis Armstrong, isn't fun after the anesthesia wears off.
A list of post-op ailments and challenges kept me away, but my vision is still too blurred for this to be fun, so I will announce the winner of my little contest. Without fanfare, the winners are Unanimous I & Unanimous II! I need your mail addresses to ship your prizes.
Thanks for christening the nameless Kiwi. She will forever be known as . . .
